Nemesis Bioscience Ltd

Nemesis Bioscience Ltd (www.nemesisbio.com) is a new biopharmaceutical company developing Nemesis Symbiotics. These Nemesis Symbiotics© will make existing antibiotics work again, prevent the spread of resistance genes and so also protect the efficacy of new antibiotics. The technology is applicable to all antibiotic classes, all known resistance mechanisms and all bacteria. The technology has additional applications in the therapeutic, veterinary and industrial fields.
The company is now seeking two microbiologists to work in its new laboratory at the Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus. The positions offer competitive salaries, a contributory pension scheme and an employee share option plan. The positions are full time and will report to the company's Chief Scientific Officer: Professor Conrad Lichtenstein (Chief Scientific Officer) at lichtenstein@nemesisbio.com.


Senior Scientific Officer

In addition to hands-on experimental and developmental work responsibilities will include the general management of the laboratory as well as supervision of the Scientific Officer position. The work will include standard bacteriological, fermenation and virological techniques including some carried out to BSL 2 safety standards
The preferred candidate will hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject and ideally have some industrial and supervisory experience. Experience working with an external Clinical Research Organisation will be a significant advantage. The successful candidate will be organised, capable of completing programmes and tasks independently and will be able to demonstrate excellent written and personal communication skills.


Scientific Officer

Responsibilities will include the hands-on completion of standard bacteriological, fermentation and virological techniques including some carried out to BSL 2 safety standards
The preferred candidate will hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject and ideally have some industrial experience. The successful candidate will be organised, capable of completing programmes and tasks carefully and accurately and will be able to demonstrate excellent written and personal communication skills.
