The Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus build continues to progress well.  September saw the completion of the foundation work for the Aberystwyth University’s Seed Biobank and work beginning on the foundations of the Campus Biorefining Centre.

Site hoarding arrived at the beginning of the month, and this has since been branded with the contractor’s colours and finished with our site billboard featuring all our investors.

Each load of concrete that arrives on site (and there have been many this month!) must be tested to ensure that it complies with industry standards regarding its quality and structural integrity.

The concrete foundations were finished for the Seed Biobank during the last week of September. These pictures to the left show the foundations and the final foundation pad being poured, while the picture below shows the foundation work progressing on the Biorefining Centre.

Looking forward, a mobile crane and the steel for the Seed Biobank’s superstructure will arrive this week.  Once the steel has been quality checked, it can be begin to be erected, so the site will start to change significantly over the coming weeks, and you may well be able to see the initial outline of the Seed Biobank over the hoardings.

If you’d like to see the site close up, get in touch with us and we’ll see what we can do. Our contractors are more than happy to give tours of the site, but they will of course require some notice.
